PICAPICA GLASS

Our name, 'Picapica', stems from the latin term for the common magpie, a bird which is traditionally renowned for collecting shiny objects. The Japanese 'Pika-Pika'  means to glitter, sparkle, or shine.

Glass itself is neither a liquid nor a solid. It remains between these two states of matter. Each completed, handcrafted Picapica glass piece is not visually static. The glass changes with the light. It changes intensity, opacity, colour and reflection. ...And it sparkles in the sun.

We hope you will find a piece here to enjoy or share with a friend.

The team at Picapica are true glass enthusiasts. Artisans who embrace the regions traditions by producing bespoke glass work in a variety of formats. We supply fused, laminated, painted and stained glass to retail outlets and direct to individual customers. Many pieces are custom

made, and make ideal gifts and mementos. Our market is both local and international.

Picapica's glass artists explore a wide range of themes from nature, form, and light. The designs reflect their love for the inherent colour and texture of glass. Each piece is lovingly designed and handmade in the studio.
